Strange Events...

Ok, so I'm thinking back upon my day yesterday and I would like to submit that it was really quite an odd day. Humor me as I rehash my day...

I was to be at work by 6am on Wednesday morning. Dad was going to take me in cuz I found out on Tuesday evening that my front right tire was flat. :( I went to bed around 11:30pm on Tuesday night, setting my alarm to 5:38am before I drifted off to sleep. At exactly 12:06am I suddenly woke up, jumped out of bed and grabbed my jacket to leave. I glared at my alarm clock trying to make sense of the numbers in red. Finally it clicked in my brain that it was only midnight. So heart pounding wildly, I put my jacket down and crawled back into bed. Only to wake up again at 3:14am. This time I instead of grabbing my jacket and I put on my gym shorts, *sigh. By this time I am getting very annoyed and flustered with myself but I swagger back into bed only to be rudely awakened by my dad 2 hours later at 5:15am. "Leanne..." "I'm awake!" grrr. So thus was the start of my day...
On to strange event number 2.
After I got off work that Wednesday morning I head out to my car. On my way to my car I happened to notice a man standing outside of the drivers side door of his Chevy pick up truck. At first glance I thought he was just searching for his keys, then I realized his truck was running and he appeared to be talking to it. That's when I noticed that there was a small girl, probably three years old, bouncing around inside of the truck. She would go from the passenger side seat to the drivers seat. This little girl had locked her father out and was loving it! The father on the other hand was near to panicking and was trying in vain to remain calm as to not scare his daughter. He was trying to coach his daughter to unlock the door for daddy. I found this whole scenerio to be hilarious and wanted to stick around for the rest of the show but I knew that my presence would have only added to rising stress level in that parking lot that morning. :)
Strange Event number 3:
I had to be back at work by noon yesterday and when I arrived everyone was all hussle and bussle. Our annual Christmas banquet for YMCA members was underway. But I had to work so I bypassed everyone and headed to my sanctuary...the pool area. After I had unlocked the doors I headed over to the sauna to crank the heat up...as is my custom. As I approached it though I caught a wiff of something wonderful...bread. I slowly peered into the sauna...sure enough, there on the sauna benches were about 500 dinner rolls piled high in baskets, waiting to be served to our guests at the banquet. Yum yum!
Last but certainly not least, Strange Event number 4:
This event is not really strange but it fit into the pattern of the day and it's about me this time so it can't be left unnoted.
After I got off work in the afternoon I then had to hurry about to prepare for the Youth Pizza party that I was hosting at the church before our Wednesday night service. I made phone calls, ordered the pizza, showered, beautified myself, then booked it to my car so that I could get the sodas and be at church by 5pm. In my hurry I forgot to grab the church credit card off the kitchen counter. At this point I'm already in the car ready to go, but since I needed money to pay for the sodas I couldn't just leave. So I unbuckle, open my car door and spring out, ready to sprint back into the house to get the credit card. That was my plan but that is not what happened. As my feet hit the pavement to take off, already pretty much running, I found an ice patch and totally wiped out. I probably would have received a perfect score, all tens, for how I must have looked. As soon as I hit the pavement I let out a howl of praise to the Lord...haha, and then just lay there. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh so I whimpered, picked myself up and dragged myself inside...still determined to complete my mission. I inspected myself on the way back to the car and found that I had gashed my hand and knee pretty good. Just a little blood, but more or less just some nice scratches. My war wounds!
And that was my day yesterday! :) After my incident in my driveway things went on as normal. So...let me see. The point to my story is this...normal isn't all that bad. :) I dunno....
